Ursula
graduated with a Batchelor of Physiotherapy Degree from University College
Dublin in 1998. She worked in the public health sector for a number of years
in the area of orthopaedic trauma and elective surgery, cardiac rehabilitation,
stroke rehabilitation, women's health and paediatrics. She has been working
in private practice since 2002.
In 2003 Ursula completed a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from Trinity
College Dublin and in 2006, she attended Curtin University, Perth, Western
Australia where she obtained a Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.
She has also achieved the National Strenght and Conditioning Association
(USA) qualification of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Ursula is interested in all sports and played Gaelic Football for many years
at senior intercounty and provincial levels. She has been involved as a
physiotherapist with numerous Gaelic Football, soccer and rugby teams and
has treated athletes of all ages and abilities. In 2003, she began working
with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) with the underage international
squad, with whom she travels worldwide. Ursula is also involved as a physiotherapist
with the Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA).
She is a committee member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Sport and
Exercise Medicine (CPSEM), a member of the National Strength and Conditioning
Association (USA) and the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS). She
is also registered with PACE for the treatment of elite athletes.
Areas of clinical interest include sports- related injuries, pre and post
surgical exercise and rehabilitation, overuse injuries, lower limb biomechanics
and orthotic prescription and western medical acupuncture.
